More than 15.000 people gather every year to be the main characters of a musical show that brings together the biggest stars of electronic (EDM) genre. Aruba is the setting for the gala where the most recent assembly of international DJ’s, are exhibited.

Visiting Aruba is to dare live an adventure. Holiday’s in this small happy island definitely proves that this piece of land, just 192 kilometers, has its charm.The Pearl of the Caribbean not only boasts its picturesque beaches and stunning landscapes, but also an anual event that brings together the best international DJ’s.

The Electric Festival has gained ground on the island. With just three events,it is a marker and is considered among the world`s most important electronic (EDM) music events. Each year it brings together about 15,000, and delights them with the latest compilations of great artists who focus on offering their most successful productions.

This explosive festival is sponsored by the Aruba Tourism Authority and attracts visitors from different countries such as Brazil, Colombia, Surinam, Venezuela, Spain, Curacao, Austria, Italy and Ireland. Darren Van Ommeren,one of the event producers,said that the planning of the event takes about one year and is extremely detailed in order to meet the expectations of the island as well as of the tourists who choose this destination ahead of time.

The Electric Festival is not just music,it is also art,cuisine and Caribbean lifestyle. During the event that takes place year after year,Aruba is the setting for an artistic showcase that affirms the reason why the island is one of the favorite places to visit.

Aside from being an amazing tourist attraction, it can also be educational. After a third year run, at last year’s September event , Aruba organized a meeting between the music industry and small producers,via lectures,conferences, and fresh air debates.

Tanks to the sponsorship of the Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), the most influential attendees exchanged ideas and discussed the importance of the impact of electronic genre in Latin America.

Different DJ’s have gathered since the debut of the festival in 2013.The german Loco Dice, Chukie, Afrojack, Knife Party, australian twins Nervo (Miriam and Oliva Nervo), the group No Eat No Sleep, and the American Lil John are some of the artists who have taken part in the events.

The event is held every summer. Last year’s September event, was held for four days at the main stage of the APA Arena. An exclusive pool party was included in program, in which 50 DJ’s were in attendance.

According to Ommeren, the goal is to continue to improve the quality of the event, as well to have more people attend every year. The expectations grow on who will be the stars of the festival the following year. Participants will be announced in May, 2016.

Electric Festival, un espectáculo musical a la orilla de la playa

Más de 15 mil personas se reúnen cada año para ser protagonistas de un show musical que reúne a las grandes estrellas del género electrónico. Aruba es el escenario de la gala en donde se exhiben las más recientes propuestas de los Dj’s internacionales.

Viajar a Aruba es atreverse a vivir una aventura. Las vacaciones en esta pequeña isla feliz comprueban que definitivamente este pedazo de tierra de apenas 192 kilómetros tiene su encanto. La perla del Mar Caribe no solo presume de sus pintorescas playas y de paisajes fascinantes sino además de una cita anual que reúne a los mejores Dj’s internacionales.

El Electric Festival ha ganado terreno en la isla, con apenas tres ediciones ya es referencia y está considerado entre los eventos de música electrónica más importantes del mundo. Año a año reúne a unas 15 mil personas para deleitarlas con las más recientes compilaciones de grandes artistas que se centran en ofrecer al público sus más exitosas producciones.

Esta fiesta explosiva es patrocinada por la Oficina de Turismo de Aruba y atrae a visitantes de diferentes países como Brasil, Colombia, Surinam, Venezuela, Curazao, España, Austria, Italia e Irlanda. Darren Van Ommeren, uno de los productores del festival, asegura que la organización del evento toma alrededor de un año y es excesivamente minuciosa con el fin de que los resultados cumplan con las expectativas tanto de la isla como las del turista que elige de manera anticipada este destino.

El Electric Festival no solo es música, es también arte, gastronomía y estilo de vida caribeño. Durante la sesión que se repite año tras año, Aruba es el escenario de las demostraciones artísticas que revelan por qué la isla es uno de los lugares favoritos para visitar.

Es una increíble alternativa turística pero también de formación. Por tercer año consecutivo, en la última sesión que se llevó a cabo el pasado mes de septiembre, Aruba buscó formalizar un encuentro entre la industria musical y los pequeños productores mediante conferencias, clases magistrales y debates al aire libre.

Los más influyentes intercambiaron ideas además de discutir sobre la importancia en la incidencia del género electrónico en América Latina, gracias al patrocinio del Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE).

Diferentes Dj’s se han dado cita desde el estreno del festival en 2013. El alemán Loco Dice, Chukie, Afrojack, Knife Party, las gemelas australianas Nervo (Miriam y Oliva Nervo), la agrupación No Eat No Sleep y el norteamericano Lil John son algunos de los artistas que han participado en las ceremonias.

El evento se lleva a cabo cada verano, la última edición realizada en septiembre de este año se celebró durante cuatro días en el escenario principal APA Arena. En la programación también se incluyó una pool party exclusiva y se confirmó la asistencia de unos 50 Dj’s.

Según Ommeren, el propósito es superar cada año no solo la calidad del evento, sino también masificar la asistencia del público. Las expectativas crecen sobre quiénes serán los protagonistas de la fiesta el próximo año. Será en mayo de 2016 cuando se anuncien a los participantes.
